What you’ll be doing
  1. Underwrite new business and existing portfolio applications, delivering decisions promptly and in line with Credit policy and risk appetite.
  2. Assess new business recommendations, providing expert knowledge to support operations and manage portfolio risk, ensuring key risks are highlighted and mitigated according to risk appetite and credit policy.
  3. For proposals exceeding your approval mandate, submit a credit paper with analysis and narrative to the appropriate mandate holder.
  4. Attend weekly portfolio and compliance meetings to stay updated on client issues and manage IF portfolio risk, escalating to the Senior Credit team as necessary.
  5. Build effective relationships within SME Lending and the Bank, attending client visits as required.
  6. Work with the IF team to offboard clients in default, aiming to mitigate losses.
About You
What you’ll bring to the team
  1. Expert lending experience within Invoice Finance, with understanding of all debtor financing options.
  2. Ability to assess proposals accurately and structure them to support customers while mitigating bank risks.
  3. Strong data analysis skills to reach decisions quickly within SLA targets.
  4. Experience working in a direct and broker origination model supporting sales teams.
  5. Commercial decision-making skills aligned with credit policy.
  6. Good report writing skills for credit papers reviewed by senior managers.
  7. Ability to manage customer risk from onboarding to offboarding due to default.

Working hours

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a hybrid model requiring at least 2 days in our Southampton office.
