Role Title: Investment Senior Manager, Reinsurance

Purpose of this role

We are currently hiring for an Investment Senior Manager who will support the CEO of Athora Reinsurance in all aspects of investment as the first line investment lead.

The role-holder will monitor and continuously review the Reinsurance existing investment portfolio and new investment opportunities and provide management information. The Senior Manager will regularly review the investment and ALM strategy and be involved in management committees.

As part of their regular reviews they will also provide a risk opinion for consideration by the ARE second line. They will oversee investment execution processes, monitor the performance of investment managers and perform regular due diligence exercises.

The role will offer exposure across different team by working closely with senior stakeholders across Athora Group including investment managers, subsidiaries and other relevant functions.

This is a 9 to 12-month maternity cover based in either Dublin or London.

Key Contribution Areas

• Ownership of regular review of the Strategic Asset Allocation of Athora Reinsurance in line with policies, requiring close coordination with other functions in order to optimize impacts within constraints

• Ownership of ongoing oversight of asset exposures and ALM positioning and provision of insight to management and other functions

• As functional lead within the Reinsurance, own production of relevant management information and present material to the relevant local and Group committees and/or Board.

• Lead engagement with Athora’s investment manager and oversight and development of reporting

• Lead review of new investment proposals and ongoing valuation methodology

• Lead regular due diligence on investment managers

• Own local asset valuation process and oversight and challenge on asset valuations performed externally.

• Assist other functions with analysis of investment exposures and performance

• Contribute to regulatory compliance via engagement with auditors and support of documentation of regulatory treatment of assets

• Maintenance of relevant policies and process documentation

Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skill Required

• Expert knowledge of typical investment asset classes

• Actuarial qualification with focus on investment, or investment-specific professional qualification (CFA charter or similar)

• Experience in asset-liability management principles and techniques

• Experience in managing and presenting to senior stakeholders.

• Experience with risk-based capital regimes such as Solvency II and/or Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet and its impact on asset allocation
