Job summary

Man Group in London offers a Summer 2027 Internship in the Systematic Investment Risk team. You will work with portfolio managers, researchers and technologists on real problems affecting live trading strategies and risk models.

You'll gain exposure to quantitative finance, risk analytics and modelling techniques, with opportunities to contribute to internal risk frameworks and to develop your technical and communication skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Strong mathematical and statistical background.

• Currently in your penultimate year of study, graduating in 2028.

• Work with all areas within the business – both within and outside Systematic – to resolve risk issues as they arise

Investment Risk – Summer 2027 Internship

Systematic Investment Risk team sits at the heart of Man Group's systematic investment process, providing independent oversight of the risk profile of our trading strategies and funds. Working closely with portfolio managers, researchers, and technologists, the team ensures that risk is well understood, appropriately managed, and consistently reflected in how we allocate capital and construct portfolios.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to a fast-paced, quantitatively driven environment at the intersection of markets, mathematics, and technology. Interns will work alongside experienced risk professionals on real problems affecting live trading strategies, from day-to-day risk monitoring to longer-term projects enhancing our internal risk models and analytical tools. It's an excellent grounding for anyone interested in a career in quantitative finance and risk management.

Key responsibilities:
