The Role:

We are looking for an Investment Director to join the M&G Investments' business. The role will have a specific focus on Asia Pacific Equities, with an AUM of ~£20 billion across a range of strategies for wholesale and institutional clients, located both in the UK as well as internationally.

Investment Specialists/Directors work closely with the Fund Managers and Distribution to articulate investment messages to internal and external clients.

The role is designed to facilitate the growth of the business, in addition to the retention of existing assets under management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality strategic content, as well as overseeing the production of presentation materials, and will also take on client-facing responsibilities, facing both internal and external audiences.

Genuine interest in both investing and client focus are essential for this role, previous working experience in these areas is a prerequisite.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • To develop an in-depth working knowledge of the team's strategies as well as overall market conditions.
  • To have a good understanding of the investment philosophy and process, as well as the different funds the team manages.
  • By applying the above, to deliver high-quality written content including reports, ad-hoc marketing materials, client queries, responses to RFPs and press requests.
  • To oversee the production of presentation materials for client meetings.
  • To deliver on deadlines and manage expectations.
  • To generate ideas and create new content, staying updated on market developments.
  • To establish strong relationships with stakeholders - from investment teams, client relations and sales teams to investment marketing, and press.
  • To build credibility and rapport with fund managers and sales teams.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • A background in Asian Equity Investing with experience in Asset Management.
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets. IMC and/or CFA preferable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Self-starter and proactive nature with the ability to foresee future requirements
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills - ability to respond to client demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to explain complex investment themes in simple language to a range of audiences.
  • Very strong messaging skills - ability to focus on key issues.
  • Attention to detail - precision and rigour in the execution of tasks.
  • Strong work ethic - an individual driven by results and achievements.
  • Time management and organisation - ability to meet deadlines for a wide range of tasks and shift priorities when required.
  • Collaborator & team player - ability to make a positive contribution to the vision of the Investment and the Investment Specialists team.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is an asset
