Job summary

The West of England Combined Authority in Bristol is seeking an Investment Analyst to shape investment decisions affecting local businesses, communities and the region’s future economy. You’ll test business cases, build financial models and provide evidence-based recommendations to senior leaders, collaborating with local authorities, universities and private-sector partners.

You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of projects, turning complex analysis into actionable advice, and helping develop

Qualifications

Degree in finance, economics, business, mathematics or related discipline.
Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
Advanced Excel capability.

Responsibilities

Appraise complex, multi-million-pound investment proposals and business cases.
Build financial models, economic assessments and sensitivity analysis.
Assess value for money, strategic fit, risk and deliverability.
Turn complex analysis into clear, compelling recommendations for senior leaders and decision-makers.
Monitor investment performance, outcomes, spend and risk.
Help develop the region’s investment pipeline and identify emerging opportunities.
Work with project sponsors and partners to strengthen proposals and meet assurance requirements.
