Job summary

Orbis invites exceptional graduates to join its Investment Analyst internship in London. You will apply a strong technical background to evaluating the global information technology value chain, from chip designers to software, while finance training is provided.

You will conduct bottom-up research, present views in reports and meetings, and develop stock-picking skills in an inclusive environment. This internship offers hands-on learning and potential progression to a permanent role.

Qualifications

• Excellent academic performance in a technical discipline such as engineering, physics, computer science, materials science, or mathematics, for example.
• A first-class degree (predicted or achieved) at undergraduate level; or
• A 2:1 degree alongside exceptional extracurricular achievement or two or more years of full-time work experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth bottom-up fundamental research to evaluate investment ideas.
• Apply your technical background to develop differentiated insights across the information technology industry – judging not just whether a technology works, but who will capture the value it creates.
• Articulate your views in reports and investment meetings (in both team specific and firm-wide settings).
• Participate in meetings with investor relations and management teams of companies under research.
• Candidates who convert to permanent positions will maintain a notional paper portfolio of their best investment ideas. This will objectively measure stock picking skill and serve as a valuable development tool.
