Job summary

Orbis is seeking an Investment Analyst Intern in London with a health care focus. The role invites candidates with life sciences/medicine backgrounds to translate scientific depth into investment judgement. You will learn finance while applying your scientific expertise.

You will conduct bottom-up research, develop insights across the health care value chain, and present views in investment meetings. This internship emphasizes development and potential conversion to a permanent role.

Qualifications

• Excellent academic performance in a medicine / life sciences related discipline, also including biostatistics, and chemistry/bioengineering.
• First-class degree (predicted or achieved) at undergraduate level or
• A 2:1 degree alongside exceptional extracurricular achievement or two or more years of full-time work experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth bottom-up fundamental research to evaluate investment ideas.
• Apply your scientific and/or clinical background to develop differentiated insights across the health care value chain.
• Articulate your views in reports and investment meetings (in both team specific and firm-wide settings).
• Participate in meetings with investor relations and management teams of companies under research.
• Candidates who convert to permanent positions will maintain a notional paper portfolio of their best investment ideas.

What will your responsibilities be?

• Articulate your views in reports and investment meetings (in both team specific and firm-wide settings).
• Participate in meetings with investor relations and management teams of companies under research.
• Candidates who convert to permanent positions will maintain a notional paper portfolio of their best investment ideas. This will objectively measure stock picking skill and serve as a valuable development tool.

Your qualifications & experience
