Job summary

F-Prime in London seeks an Associate to lead due diligence across product, market, and data analysis, turning scientific insights into go/no-go decisions. You will support portfolio investments and engage with executives to source new opportunities.

A PhD or MD is desirable, with at least 2 years in strategy consulting, banking, equity research, or related roles. The role is onsite in London three days per week.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of work experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, equity research, venture capital, or related investment roles.
• Experience in business development, corporate development, or strategic roles in pharma/biotech is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a loosely-structured environment.
• Strong interest in learning across scientific domains.
• Ability to synthesize large volumes of scientific/clinical data into clear insights.
• Strong networking and relationship-building with entrepreneurs and investors.

Responsibilities

• Leading all stages of due diligence including product-specific diligence, market analysis, and conducting primary and secondary research. The Associate will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing preclinical and clinical product data into go/no-go decisions. Prior experience in financial modeling is a plus but not required.




• Supporting existing portfolio company investments through ongoing analysis and review with other investment professionals in the firm. Some portfolio company participation as a Board Observer will be necessary.




• Reviewing and evaluating new business plans.




• Sourcing new investment opportunities through strategic analysis of market sectors and identifying appropriate targets, attending industry events and conferences, and contacting and building relationships with executives.




• Participating in operational activities related to new company formation.




• Collaborating on internal fund and firm initiatives.

Requirements

• A PhD or MD is highly desirable for this position but is not essential.




• At least 2 years of work experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, equity research, venture capital, or other investment-related roles; in business development, corporate development, or other strategic functions within pharmaceutical or biotech companies; or, in scientific research roles in academia or industry.




• Ability to work independently and productively and thrive in a loosely-structured environment.




• Intellectual curiosity and a demonstrated eagerness to learn, especially across new scientific and technical domains.




• Ability to process and synthesize high volumes of scientific and clinical data into clear, actionable insights.




• Genuine interest in networking and in building trusted, long-term relationships with entrepreneurs and investors.




• Aptitude for using AI tools to enhance analysis




• Strong written and oral interpersonal skills.




• This position is based in London and requires candidates to work onsite three days per week.
