Job description

We’re currently looking to hire an Investment Analyst to join L&G Asset Management Index Team. As an Investment Analyst, you’ll support the development of various in-house fund management tools that assist our Fund Managers and Senior Fund Managers in managing funds.

This role offers exposure to many internal teams within L&G Asset Management. The successful candidate will have proven experience in building internal relationships, knowledge of the programming language Python, and a proactive approach to automating processes and solving issues for our clients.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Providing support and developing various in-house fund management tools, including spreadsheets, databases, and SQL/VB/VBA-based programs.
  2. Participating in ad-hoc quantitative and qualitative research and preparing materials for investment reports.
  3. Analyzing corporate actions and recommending actions.
  4. Assisting with client servicing, responding to requests, and preparing materials for presentations.
  5. Producing reports such as fund holdings, attribution, and risk reports regularly.
  6. Analyzing portfolio breakdowns, transfers, index construction, and performance attribution.
Qualifications:
  1. Experience in Investment Management or finance is preferable; proven programming skills from other industries are also considered.
  2. Knowledge of Python or experience with another coding language is highly advantageous.
  3. Understanding of index evaluation and strong investment/financial knowledge is beneficial.
  4. Familiarity with various asset classes, especially index-focused.
  5. Creative problem-solving skills and ability to develop supportive processes.
  6. Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and develop.
  7. Excellent written and presentation skills.
