Job description

We are supporting our client in hiring several Investigators to join their team. Our client is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that resolves financial disputes between businesses and consumers that they are unable to settle themselves. They make fair decisions and have legal powers to rectify unfair treatment.

Role Overview

The complaints our client handles vary widely, including issues with bank accounts, payday loans, insurance payouts, or mortgages.

Responsibilities
  1. Investigating complaints related to Insurance, Pensions, Mortgages, or Investment products.
  2. Managing your caseload effectively to meet targets.
  3. Building and maintaining relationships with customers and financial businesses.
  4. Examining evidence to understand complaints thoroughly.
  5. Assessing all sides of a story, applying relevant rules and regulations to make fair decisions.
  6. Communicating with empathy, listening carefully, asking pertinent questions, and demonstrating sound judgement.
  7. Clearly communicating findings and reasoning through structured written responses.
Location and Hours

Remote working with one day every eight weeks in our Edinburgh office. Roles are available as full-time (35 hours/week) or part-time (28 hours/week), with flexible working patterns around core hours such as 9am-5pm, 8am-4pm, or 10am-6pm.

Salary and Benefits

£31,000 per annum plus excellent benefits, including:

  • An optional cash allowance to enhance benefits or add to salary.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell additional days.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Non-contributory pension scheme up to 12% of salary.
Contract Details

18-month fixed-term contract.
