Job Overview

Are you ready to lead and inspire within a dynamic healthcare environment? NHS Frimley Health Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive and skilled Inventory Procurement Team Manager to join our team at Frimley Park Hospital.

About The Role

As Inventory Procurement Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing our Inventory Management System across our key sites. This leadership position demands a blend of strong organisational ability, excellent communication, motivational skills, and proficiency with IT systems. You will support and collaborate closely with Assistant Supply Chain Managers across our three main locations, driving continuous improvement in line with NHS priorities.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead and champion the GS1 standards within the Trust, ensuring best practice in procurement and inventory management.
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships across a wide network including Executive and Non-Executive Directors, Audit Committee members, Chiefs of Services, Associate Directors, budget holders, and wider Trust staff.
  • Collaborate with external partners such as the Department of Health, NHS Improvement, NHS Supply Chain, Crown Commercial Services, NHS Commercial Solutions, and other procurement hubs.
  • Manage supplier relationships at multiple levels, from National Sales Managers to local representatives, ensuring value and compliance in procurement activities.
  • Drive integration and development of our inventory systems, promoting efficiency and adaptability in a fast-evolving healthcare sector.

Essential criteria

  • Holder of Advanced Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or similar appropriate professional institute to degree level or relevant qualification (such as Inventory management or Supply Chain qualifications)

Desirable criteria

  • Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience in an Inventory Management or stock management systems role (or equivalent) using the Trusts chosen Omnicell provider
  • Experience in a senior stock management role within a complex public procurement environment

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of stock management within a hospital setting
  • Experience of applying principles of change management.

Skills

Essential criteria

  • In depth understanding of the principles of stock management including: -knowledge of calculating optimum reorder levels -understanding of the complexities of stock flow including lead times
  • Ability to communicate effectively at senior level
  • Has credibility with senior managers and clinicians
