Job summary

Chris Lewis Fire & Security and Smart Home is seeking an Inventory and Pre-installation Technician to bring structure and accuracy to our Stores function. You will own Stores, maintain stock records and prepare equipment for engineers and installation teams.

You will perform pre-installation tasks such as firmware updates, initialisation and cloud onboarding, and work closely with Engineering, Service, Projects and Procurement to keep equipment moving efficiently and correctly.

Qualifications

• Experience with technical equipment, security systems or IT hardware.
• Strong organisation and stock accuracy discipline.
• Ability to follow structured instructions and perform repeatable configuration tasks.
• Willingness to learn firmware upgrades and cloud-based onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Own Stores to keep stock organised and available.
• Maintain stock records including movements and allocations.
• Support clear Stores processes, housekeeping standards and quality controls.
• Apply correct CL labels and ensure equipment is installation-ready.
• Complete pre-installation tasks like firmware updates and basic initialisation.
• Connect, initialise and onboard equipment to cloud platforms.
• Work with Engineering to identify transferable tasks.
• Escalate technical issues and maintain records.
