Job summary

Rexel UK is seeking an Inventory Planner to join our procurement team. You will place stock orders, optimize inventory, and work closely with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries across branches.

You will develop product knowledge, support procurement efficiency, and contribute to excellent customer service and cost management in a fast-paced wholesale environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Excellent customer service skills and awareness.
• Good communication, presentation and organizational skills.
• Able to analyse detailed data.

Responsibilities

• Place orders for stock and non-stock products based on agreed parameters and customer/branch expectations.
• Optimize inventory levels to maximize service while minimizing costs.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Collaborate with inventory and category teams to manage supply issues.
• Update systems for branch deals and pricing.
• Assist Team Leader with reviews to improve procurement efficiency.
• Build positive relationships with suppliers, colleagues and branches.
• Support procurement-related ad-hoc projects.
• Develop product and supplier knowledge within area of responsibility.

Job Description

As an Inventory Planner at Rexel your duties will be:

• Place orders for stock and non-stock products based on agreed parameters as required, meeting expectations of customers and branches
• Support and ensure that inventory levels are optimized to maximize customer service levels whilst minimizing stock holding costs to the business
• Liaising with suppliers to ensure that products are delivered in a timely manner
• Working closely with inventory and category teams to proactively manage supply related issues
• Ensure system is updated and maintained for branch deals and pricing
• Support the Team Leader with reviews and recommended changes to improve operational efficiency to keep abreast of trends and changes in procurement
• Develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with suppliers, colleagues and branch teams
• Support Ad Hoc projects for procurement team as and when required
• Develop product and commercial knowledge applicable to product ranges and suppliers within area of responsibility
