Job description

Fresh Direct is currently recruiting an Inventory Planner to join our team in Bicester on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role offers hybrid working with 1 day working from home.

The Inventory Planner will be responsible for planning and managing stock levels for multi-temp products across various categories and locations. The team will review product ranges daily to ensure stock levels meet customer demand, are balanced according to stock holding guidelines, and place orders with suppliers globally. The role also involves monitoring waste figures to meet KPIs, balancing company spend on availability and waste to ensure profitability.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Ensure correct product and stock quantities are available at the time of pick for all Inspiration/Innovation depot customers, minimizing waste.
• Regularly liaise with account managers regarding menu changes and customer requirements.
• Assist the Supply Chain Manager in forecasting volume requirements for contract suppliers through collaboration with account managers, customers, and other departments.
• Oversee the management of the booking system to ensure proper usage by suppliers and system efficiency.
• Keep the business informed of volume fluctuations that could impact profitability.
• Implement a robust recovery process for rejections that align with supply chain expectations at a cost-effective price.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment to support business goals.
• Update management on opportunities or threats impacting the business through meetings and reports.
• Provide intelligence and data to support informed decision-making across departments.
• Ensure compliance with legislation such as H&S, Hygiene, BRC, etc., and report violations.
• Develop team members to reach their full potential and prepare them for future roles.
• Maintain knowledge of Fresh Direct policies and regulations.
• Participate in specific projects or activities as directed by management.
