Job summary

ComXps in Bristol is seeking a part-time Defence Inventory specialist for a 6-month contract funded through 2029. The role requires HQ-level and strategic experience with BWIMS, MJDI, and quartermaster duties. SC clearance preferred.

The candidate will work three days a week on-site and coordinate hours to maximize client allocation. Strong negotiation skills, rapid grasp of complex systems, and deep knowledge of spares models are essential.

Qualifications

• Has worked at HQ level and at strategic level with BWIMS knowledge.
• Experience with Defence Inventory systems including BWIMS and MJDI.
• Senior Defence Inventory experience across related departments.
• Experience in a role building torpedo-related inventory or assets.
• Understands inventory management and asset replacement processes.
• Defence Level 3 equivalent when applicable.
• Quartermaster experience or civilian equivalent is preferred.

This role is Inside IR35.

Location: Bristol - 3 days a week (part time role)

Clearance: SC preferred.

Contract Length:6 months but role funding is to 2029

Essential:

• Someone who has worked at a Headquarter level
• Someone who has worked at the strategic level who would have knowledge of the Base Warehouse Information Management System (BWIMS).
• Experience of Defence Inventory systems including BWIMS and MJDI
• Senior Inventory Defence experience
• Experience within a department that built torpedoes from the ground up
• Understands inventory management and asset replacement
• Level 3 Defence equivalent
• Quartermaster experience or having held a posting as a Quartermaster, or civilian equivalent
• Ability to grasp and simulate things quickly
• Details around spares model would be quite important
• Able to negotiate when they can work, so time can be managed and agree which days of the week so the client can get full allocation of hours
• Can work on their own
