Job summary

GXO is recruiting an Inventory Control Leader to join the B&Q site in Blyth, managing stock and systems for an efficient warehouse operation. You will oversee activities of warehouse operatives, coordinate stock processes and act as a Super User resolving system and stock issues.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong Excel skills, and experience with WMS systems; shift pattern is any 5 from 7, Monday to Friday, with rotating early/late hours.

Qualifications

• Experience of inventory and stock processes within a warehouse environment.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (JDA / Red Prairie) desirable.
• Strong MS Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Good communication, problem solving and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, co-ordinate, supervise and report on warehouse operatives to support effective leadership and training.
• Process stock orders, load planning and stock handling using the WMS per procedures.
• Be the point of contact for systems and stock issues as a Super User.
• Investigate stock discrepancies and implement preventative measures and best practices.

Are you a stock and inventory professional with a passion for systems and process improvement? Do you thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment and enjoy being the go-to person for stock and systems support? Do you pride yourself on your attention to detail? If yes, we may have the role for you! GXO are looking for an Inventory Control Leader to join our B&Q site in Blyth - S81 8PU. In this key role, you'll be the subject matter expert for all things stock and systems, supporting the first line managers and wider operational team to deliver outstanding results. This is a full time, permanent position, where you will be working on an 'any 5 from 7' shift pattern, Monday to Friday. The hours of work will rotate weekly between 06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Plan, co-ordinate, supervise and report upon the work activities of the warehouse operatives, enabling the FLM's to provide effective communication, leadership, succession planning, motivation and training & development.
• Process stock orders, load planning, and various stock handling duties using the Warehouse Management System (WMS), following the correct procedures.
• Be the point of contact for any systems and stock issues, finding resolutions as a Super User.
• Investigate all stock discrepancies and establish preventative measures and best practises.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Experience of inventory and stock processes within a warehouse environment.
• Previous experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (JDA / Red Prairie highly desirable).
• A good knowledge of MS Excel, to include pivot tables and v look ups.
• Effective communication, problem solving and time management skills.
• Able to be a team player or work independently, with the flexibility to be 'hands on' when required.
