Job summary

Consortium Professional Recruitment are working with a Hull-based manufacturing operation to recruit a Materials Controller. You will order components, manage stock levels, and collaborate with Finance, Sales, Product Management and R&D to support production continuity.

The role involves placing orders, monitoring progress, analysing usage, and working with suppliers to improve performance, with a focus on accurate inventory and timely material availability for customer service.

Qualifications

• Two years+ experience in inventory management and purchasing.
• Strong understanding of MRP systems.
• Ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication with suppliers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders and monitor progress to maintain stock.
• Analyse material usage and demand to set inventory levels.
• Collaborate with vendors to improve supply performance and reliability.
• Support new product introductions and cessation activity.
• Investigate stock inaccuracies and identify practical solutions.
