Job summary

Manpower (United Kingdom) is seeking a proactive Material Controller to support production by ensuring materials, equipment, consumables and PPE are available, recorded accurately, and efficiently managed. The role involves collaborating with Production, Purchasing, Logistics, Quality and Engineering to sustain production and timely customer delivery.

The successful candidate will manage stock movements, maintain inventory accuracy, handle deliveries, perform stock checks and cycle counts, and

Qualifications

• Experience in materials control, stores, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or supply chain environments.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, ideally JDE.
• Strong Excel and Outlook skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
• Knowledge of material handling and storage best practices.
• Knowledge of Lean, 5S or continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels to ensure materials and consumables are available to meet production requirements.
• Receive, check, store, issue and dispatch materials in line with procedures.
• Maintain accurate stock records and transactions using ERP/JDE systems.
• Monitor stock availability and investigate shortages, discrepancies, and booking errors.
• Carry out cycle counts, stock checks, and stock reconciliations.
• Arrange collections, transfers, and deliveries with suppliers and logistics providers.
• Maintain safe, organised stores areas in line with 5S and HSE standards.
