Location: Ely (CB6) Duration: Permanent Hours: 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday (core hours of 9am - 4pm) Salary: Competitive Job Reference: 35741 Polytec are working with a globally recognised manufacturer in the high-tech engineering sector to find an experienced Inventory Controller to join their production team in Ely. This role is crucial to ensuring high standards of stock accuracy, managing and improving inventory processes, and contributing to continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives across the business. Responsibilities: Conducting routine cycle counts and leading the site's stock audit programme Investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies to maintain accuracy Supporting process improvement initiatives, including optimising storage and reducing stock variants Collaborating with cross-functional teams - including production, logistics, purchasing, and finance Maintaining ERP inventory records and processing stock movements with full audit traceability Delivering training to ensure effective stock handling practices are embedded across teams Managing scrap allowances and contributing to waste reduction strategies Producing accurate reports on stock performance and write-off trends Requirements: Previous experience in inventory control within a manufacturing environment Hands-on knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) Demonstrable success in improving stock accuracy and leading cycle count programmes Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently Confident communicator who can lead training and work across departments Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering or a related technical field Background in a high-precision or technical manufacturing environment Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below!
