Job summary

Polytec is seeking a Materials and Assembly Technician for our Linton site. This temporary role starts at 40 hours per week, with a 4-week initial duration and potential extension. Salary is 12.74–15.38 per hour, depending on experience, and meals are provided for all staff.

Responsibilities include stock control, issuing materials, receiving goods, and both mechanical and electrical sub-assembly work. On-site role with a focus on safe, efficient production operations.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
• Confident IT skills; familiarity with Microsoft Excel and MRP systems desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day stock control with accurate stock levels.
• Raise purchase orders for project requirements and consumables.
• Monitor and chase outstanding purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Receive and inspect incoming goods and check against documentation.
• Pick and issue materials for projects and internal requests.
• Maintain housekeeping and correct storage of parts.
• Carry out stock takes and update stock records.
• Pack and dispatch small goods for shipment when required.
• Communicate progress and shortages to Production Manager.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly of sub-assemblies.
