Job description

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As we implement our Digital First Supply Chain Strategy within Operations, we seek an Intralogistics Project Delivery Engineer to help us implement a material handling solution for our UK Distribution Centre (DC) planned to launch in 2027.
You will work alongside process and construction teams to build a new Distribution Centre for one of the most iconic and innovative global brands. The goal is to create a ground-breaking omni-channel DC featuring the latest in automation, innovation, and design.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Professional qualification in engineering or equivalent experience, with familiarity in automation (mechanical, electrical & controls).
  • Broad technical knowledge, including experience with MHE installation (electrical, mechanical, PLC, pneumatics).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams.
  • Experience managing technical projects at scale in highly automated environments.
  • Interest and curiosity about material handling systems.
  • Responsibility for project realization.
  • Enjoyment of teamwork, working with cross-functional teams, and thriving in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and results-driven mindset.
  • Effective communication skills, both formal and informal.
  • Knowledge of UK norms and regulations for technical installations.
  • High-performance mindset: proactive, results-oriented, positive attitude, and enthusiasm.
  • Flexibility in work patterns during project installation.
  • CSCS credentials for on-site roles.
  • Formal safety qualifications.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will be involved from project start through testing, commissioning, and acceptance, ensuring a smooth handover of a fully functional installation at the DC launch.

As part of the Automation team, you will contribute to implementing an efficient material handling solution, requiring comprehensive understanding of all aspects of material handling equipment and automation (mechanical, electrical, controls).

  • Report to the Lead Project Engineer regarding technical delivery and scope management.
  • Ensure project meets technical and quality installation standards.
  • Adhere to NIKE quality processes and procedures.
  • Assist in identifying and managing risks and issues.
  • Support day-to-day project delivery activities.
  • Lead by example in health and safety practices.
  • Collaborate closely with principal contractors and OEM vendors.
