Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an IR Radiology Care Assistant, Band 3, to greet patients, prepare them for examinations, and support nursing teams across Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General Hospitals.

The role focuses on patient safety, communication, and operational support in interventional radiology settings, with shift patterns from 8:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths grade C or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Caring and compassionate with understanding Trust values.
• Be able to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
• Experience of Radiology Appointments, CRIS or the Trak Care patient system.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet patients and prepare them for examinations across two hospitals.
• Undertake patient observations and documentation with NEWS scoring.
• Cannulation and decanting/ assisting in interventional procedures after training.
• Transfer patients to and from the department and imaging rooms.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant department in a multidisciplinary team.
