The Kent Interventional Radiology Centre, a purpose-built unit at the Kent and Canterbury site, is equipped with the latest Siemens Artis Pheno angiography system with robotic assistance, full anaesthetic facilities, and a dedicated 6-bedded Day Case Unit opened in May 2022. The unit supports regional vascular services reconfiguration.
It operates alongside a hybrid Endovascular Theatre, fully refurbished with a Siemens Artis system. The Trust plans to open a third imaging suite fitted with a Siemens Icono unit by June 2024 to support the regional Stroke Thrombectomy service.
The Radiology department is large and successful, with 5 CT scanners, 5 MRI scanners, and additional mobile MRI and CT units. Recently, two SPECT/CT units were introduced in Nuclear Medicine.
This position is for an Interventional Radiologist with specialized training in Vascular and Non-Vascular Radiology, including EVAR and peripheral interventions. The practice includes non-oncological embolotherapy such as uterine artery embolization, prostate artery embolization, varicocele embolization, and pelvic congestion treatment. The centre is in consultation to become the hub for a Kent-wide Vascular network, offering opportunities for clinical and research development.
