Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Interventional / Cardiac Radiographer to join our busy department, which offers a wide range of procedures across all specialties. We have recently opened new facilities on our QMC campus and plan to redevelop our City campus by 2026.

Previous experience in Cardiac & Interventional Radiography is advantageous. This post is also suitable for radiographers wishing to expand their knowledge; an extended training and induction period will be provided.

Our department includes 6 IR theatres across two sites and 3 cardiology labs at the City campus. We have recently installed two Siemens Icono biplanes at QMC and are in the process of adding two more cardiac cath labs.

We support vascular and urology theatres, providing Neuro and Vascular IR services with procedures such as Mechanical Thrombectomy, Neuro embolisations, Chemo Embolisation, Vascular angioplasties, FEVAR, PTC, Renal work, and major trauma interventions. Cardiology procedures include primary PCI, TAVI, Ablations, and various device placements. By 2026, we aim to have redeveloped and moved into new facilities at the City campus.

Applicants will be required to work across both sites. Our working hours are from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 4-day working week. An on-call service is available at both sites, including a dedicated cardiac on-call, in which participation is expected.

NUH is one of the largest and busiest acute Trusts in England, employing approximately 460 staff and seeing over 400,000 patients annually.

Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) and City Hospital offer extensive regional services, including neurosciences, Nottingham Children’s Hospital, an Emergency Department (Level 1 Trauma Centre), cardiac and thoracic surgeries, cancer, renal, urology, and stroke services.

We are expanding our department and seek a forward-thinking, experienced radiographer with an interest in Interventional Radiology and Cardiology to join our team.

Our friendly team collaborates with multiple specialties such as Neuro, Vascular, Body, MSK, and Cardiology, working across two sites within a large teaching trust.
