Overview

Join to apply for the Intervention Tutor role at TieTalent.

Core subject expertise (Maths, English, or Science) for SEN / SEND students, including those with SEMH and other additional educational needs, is required in Berkshire. This role is available on a flexible basis with multiple positions and ongoing recruitment to meet needs.

Targeted Provision’s mission is to transform the quality of education for young people with SEN/SEND, SEMH, MLD, and SLD, with support from our SEN / SEND Support Specialists. This role suits qualified SEN / SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring, delivered in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner.

We offer our SEN / SEND Tutors a flexible schedule, CPD opportunities, a dedicated support team around the child, and a community for sharing best practices.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other educational needs referred to Targeted Provision.
  • Work with children referred by local authorities and schools, supporting their educational and social-emotional needs.
  • Deliver flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring.
  • Plan each session and deliver holistic, engaging teaching that advances educational and social-emotional development.
  • Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress.
Requirements
  • Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS).
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience.
  • Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and other Additional Educational Needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding processes; enhanced DBS (support to obtain at cost if needed).
  • Two professional references.
  • Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK (including for remote/online work).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people.
Employment status
  • This is a short-term engagement as a Worker, contracted for service and paid via PAYE.
  • No guaranteed hours or expenses; insurance covers work with us.
  • This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position.
