Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers in the UK to support learners with SEND and SEMH needs across KS1–KS5. Roles can be in-person, hybrid, or remote, with flexible hours to fit your schedule and ongoing opportunities as applications arrive.

You will plan and deliver trauma-informed tutoring, report on pupil progress, and collaborate with local authorities and schools. QTS/QTLS is preferred; Enhanced DBS can be facilitated.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/ PMLD in trauma-informed settings.
  • Familiarity teaching English, Maths and/or Science.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS) is preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybrid tuition to children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress.
  • Support pupils referred by local authorities and schools with flexible tutoring and mentoring.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe learning environment with safeguarding practices.

SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements:
  • Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities:
  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties). SEND Tutor and Teacher employment status:
