Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers to deliver in-person, hybrid, and online tuition to children and young people with SEND and SEMH needs. Roles are offered on a self-employed basis with flexible hours and opportunities across the UK.

Responsibilities include trauma-informed tutoring across KS1–KS5, planning lessons, and reporting progress. Prior experience with Maths, English and/or Science is preferred, and safeguarding processes will be followed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEM H needs
• Familiarity with teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• QTS or QTLS and safeguarding knowledge required

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, online or hybrid tuition for Maths, English or Science to children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs
• Plan and report on lessons; give regular progress feedback
• Work within trauma-informed approaches and safeguarding policies

SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements:

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities:

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
