Job summary

Language Empire is recruiting freelance interpreters and translators in Dronfield to support NHS, Local Authorities, police and other public/private organisations. Flexible hours and competitive rates; work includes face-to-face, telephone and video interpreting.

As a self-employed professional you will interpret with 100% accuracy, handle confidential information, and liaise between service users and providers.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and another language
• Right to work in the UK
• Age 21 or over
• Formal interpreting qualifications (DPSI, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI)
• Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages or related qualification

Responsibilities

The Job

Interpreting involves listening to, understanding and memorizing content in the original ‘source' language, then reproducing the speech into the ‘target' language with 100% accuracy.

You will:

• Interpret for people using legal, health and local government services
• Check the non-English speakers understanding after each sentence
• Conference, consecutive and public service interpreting
• Dealing with highly confidential information

• Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
• Community Interpreting
• NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered is advantageous
