ExamWorks Language Services (ELS) seeks freelance interpreters in and around Brighton for both on-site and remote assignments. You will facilitate real-time interpretation ensuring accuracy, tone, and intent while upholding confidentiality and impartiality across diverse settings.

Applicants with DPSI, DPI, Community Interpreting or language degrees (BA/MA/PhD) will have higher visibility; right to work in the UK and DBS compliance are required. Flexible hours and prompt invoicing offered.

Role Overview:

As an ELS-registered interpreter, you will facilitate clear and accurate communication between professionals and clients who do not share a common language. You will interpret dialogue in real time, ensuring meaning, tone, and intent are faithfully conveyed.

Assignments will take place across various settings where precision, confidentiality, and impartiality are essential.

Experience and Qualifications:

We prioritise applications from interpreters who hold relevant qualifications and experience. Those with certifications such as DPSI, DPI, Community Interpreting, or academic degrees in languages (BA, MA, PhD), will be given greater visibility and access to a broader range of opportunities with ELS.

We also recognise the need for flexibility in rare or underrepresented languages and regions. We are committed to supporting linguists who wish to develop their careers in interpreting.

Additional requirements:

• Proof of a valid right to work within the UK
• A valid DBS certificate (or agreement to apply for one)
