Job summary

Avance Consulting in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced EV Test Engineer to drive lab and road testing for charging infrastructure interoperability. You will manage test vehicles, develop route plans and coordinate across multiple teams to ensure efficient, standards-driven testing and data collection.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, data analysis, and rapid issue resolution with a focus on ISO/NORMs and ongoing process improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in a relevant engineering or systems field.
• Proven analytical and data reporting capabilities.
• Strong ability to communicate and coordinate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and trace Charge Point Operators (CPOs).
• Manage and update test vehicles with required hardware and software configurations for lab/road testing.
• Develop detailed route maps for comprehensive drive plans and interoperability testing.
• Coordinate test vehicle bookings and availability across multiple teams.
• Ensure alignment with cross-functional teams for smooth test execution.
• Conduct lab-based interoperability testing per ISO 15118, DIN 70121, IEC 61851 and OCPP.
• Identify compatibility issues using data visualization tools during road testing.
• Contribute to FMA tracker with at least one test case to prevent recurrence.
• Build knowledge about charging station OEMs and their product development.
• Support data collection, manipulation and interpretation to inform engineering resolutions.
• Execute commissioning and acceptance testing of measurement equipment.
• Carry out data quality and performance reporting for measurement equipment.
• Support audits and continuous improvement to enhance test efficiency and product quality.
