JOB SUMMARY
The Tax Senior Manager will play a significant role in establishing CloudHQ’s tax strategy in Europe, Latin America, and Asia . The successful candidate will report to CloudHQ’s Global Tax team based in Washington DC, US, and will work closely with cross functional teams including Investment, Development, Finance, Accounting, and Legal to manage CloudHQ’s expansion outside the US.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies for international operations, focusing on optimization and risk mitigation.
- Provide tax due diligence support, structuring advice, and post-acquisition integration planning for cross-border transactions.
- Provide tax input for purchase and sale agreements, joint venture negotiations, and internal restructuring transactions.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks, ensuring adherence to local and international tax laws and regulations.
- Oversee tax compliance activities, including tax return preparation, transfer pricing documentation, and reporting obligations in multiple jurisdictions.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation, regulations, and industry trends to advise on potential business impacts for the fund.
- Build and manage strong relationships with external advisors and tax authorities to effectively navigate complex tax issues in multiple countries.
- Evaluate and respond to requests for tax audits.
- Implement technological and process enhancements to ensure timely and accurate information is provided to the Investment and Finance teams.
Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Degree in Accountancy, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent.
Language Skills: Fluent in English.
Experience:
- 6-8 years of relevant tax experience in Big 4 accounting firms or large real estate organizations.
- Extensive experience in cross-border transactions and structuring within real estate funds, infrastructure, construction, and/or data centers.
- Proven track record in European real estate tax is essential. Experience within LATAM and/or APAC would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding or US investor and fund manager requirements.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive experience in real estate fund structuring and M&A.
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed and accommodate meetings with the management team in US and European time zones.
- Exceptional organization and project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet critical deadlines.
- Effective team player with the ability to collaborate internally and externally, across different languages and international business cultures.
