UWE Bristol is an ambitious, values-led university. We are focused on solving future global challenges through outstanding learning, world-leading research and a culture of enterprise, and we are looking for people who share our core values to help us achieve those aims.

We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for an International Officer to join our International Office, specifically the Americas, Europe and CIS team. This is a permanent role based at our vibrant Frenchay Campus, with an expectation that postholders will work on campus for at least two days per week.

The International Office is responsible for supporting student recruitment from around the world. We provide relevant and up-to-date information about our courses, entry requirements and admissions processes, working collaboratively with prospective students, education agents, schools and other partners.

Working with colleagues across the University, the International Office plans and delivers a range of recruitment, conversion and partnership activity in the UK and overseas to support the achievement of UWE Bristol’s international student recruitment objectives.

The International Officer will report to the Regional Manager for the Americas, Europe and CIS and will support recruitment activity across an agreed regional portfolio. Alongside their regional responsibilities, the postholder will take particular responsibility for supporting the effective management, compliance and continuous improvement of the University’s international education agent network, aligned to the Agent Quality Framework (AQF).

This will include maintaining accurate agent records, monitoring engagement and performance, supporting the development and maintenance of agent training and guidance materials, and escalating issues, risks and opportunities to relevant Regional Managers and the Head of International Development.

About you

We are looking for an International Officer who can combine strong relationship management and organisational skills with an understanding of international student recruitment.

In this role, you will support the delivery of regional recruitment plans and conversion activity, working with prospective students, education agents, schools, partners and colleagues across UWE Bristol. You will also represent the University at recruitment events and undertake international travel as required.

As the International Officer with a focus on Agent Partnerships, you will combine regional recruitment activity with a particular focus on supporting the University’s international education agent network. You will maintain accurate agent records, monitor engagement and performance, support the development and maintenance of agent training and guidance materials, and identify issues, risks and opportunities for escalation to relevant Regional Managers.

The University has already begun developing its approach to the Agent Quality Framework (AQF), but our systems and processes are still evolving. The Agent Partnerships post will support this work by contributing to the continuous improvement and development of agent management processes, helping to develop more consistent approaches and embed sector best practice across agent management activity.

This may include reviewing and improving processes, maintaining accurate agent records, monitoring compliance requirements, supporting the development of guidance and resources, and helping ensure that agent activity aligns with institutional policies, the AQF and wider regulatory expectations.

You will be comfortable working in a fast-moving and target-driven environment and will have experience in customer service, sales, recruitment, admissions, international education or a related field. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will also be comfortable using recruitment and agent performance data to monitor activity, identify trends and support decision-making around recruitment, conversion and agent engagement.

Experience of working directly with international education agents or recruitment partners would be particularly valuable for this role.
