Job summary

Fletcher George is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its international group based at the head office in Leatherhead, Surrey. The role offers genuine exposure across UK and European businesses, with responsibilities spanning European VAT compliance, multi-currency accounting, statutory reporting and strengthening financial controls.

You will prepare quarterly VAT returns across European jurisdictions, support payroll for the UK team, work with Xero and the group CRM, and assist with

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACCA/CIMA/ACA/ICAS or equivalent.
• Experience in international, multi-currency environments.
• European VAT or cross-border transaction experience.
• Strong communicator across countries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly VAT returns for European jurisdictions.
• Manage high-volume transactions in multiple currencies.
• Ensure VAT treatment of imports and cross-border transactions.
• Support financial governance and strengthen controls.
• Assist with statutory and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with UK payroll activities and external advisers.
