American Express seeks a Director, Compliance Officer – International CFR, to lead a global compliance program across Credit & Fraud Risk. You will drive independent oversight, challenge, and effective controls while partnering with GRC, Legal, and Business teams to ensure adherence to cross-border regulations.

You will manage a team, influence strategic decisions, and support regulatory exams and remediation efforts to protect customers and shareholders.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of CFR processes and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance.
• Experience leading compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Lead CFR international compliance program engagement with stakeholders.
• Review and oversee credit lifecycle compliance activities and controls.
• Participate in CFR councils and planning meetings for new products and services.
• Manage a team delivering CRA, RCIM, KRIs and RBST oversight.
• Collaborate with GC, second line and other stakeholders to drive compliance.
• Oversee Compliance Issue Management and remediation when needed.
• Support regulatory examinations, audits and monitoring efforts.
• Coordinate regulatory inventories and action plans, track gaps.
