We are looking for someone to join our team in our London City office with hybrid working of 2-3 days per week.

The Internal Communications Specialist at Munich Re Specialty - Global Markets (MRS-GM) plays a key role in supporting a cohesive employee experience. This role reports to the Senior Internal Communications Manager, who will provide strategic direction and prioritisation.

The role coordinates and delivers impactful internal communication initiatives, working with senior stakeholders to help strengthen corporate culture and support alignment with Munich Re Specialty and Group strategies.

It coordinates plans and events and maintains channels that help strengthen culture through high-quality execution, clear communication and an employee-centred approach.

Responsibilities
  • Internal communication delivery: Coordinate the delivery of clear, engaging and audience-appropriate internal communications for MRS-GM, translating strategic priorities and guidance into effective messages, campaigns, and employee experiences.
  • Culture and change communications: Support MRS-GM culture and change initiatives by developing communications that help employees understand business priorities, leadership messages, organisational change and people-related topics.
  • Employee engagement and clarity: Help improve employee engagement by coordinating messages across stakeholders, reducing duplication, and ensuring communications are timely, relevant, and easy to understand.

  • Stakeholder engagement: Build trusted relationships with MRS-GM senior leaders, HR, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to collaborate on communication needs, shape messaging, and deliver high‑quality campaigns and employee experiences.
  • Channel management: Maintain and develop MRS-GM internal communication channels, including intranet content, editorial calendars and event communications, ensuring channels are well‑governed, engaging, current, and aligned to audience needs. Bring creativity to digital channels to improve reach and engagement.
  • Measurement and continuous improvement: Track communication and campaign performance using relevant metrics, feedback and channel insights, and use findings to improve reach, engagement, clarity, and effectiveness.
  • Conduct and outcomes: Support good conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers and policyholders.
  • Governance, planning, and process: Ensure internal communications follow relevant standards, governance, and approval processes. Manage editorial planning routines, including the monthly editorial committee, to align content, share insights, and gather feedback.
  • Business area communications support: Serve as the key internal communications contact for assigned business areas and topics, including Legal, Risk & Compliance, Operations, Claims, and ESG, developing processes that improve coordination, planning, and delivery.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience in (re)insurance, financial services, or other relevant fields.
  • Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Creativity, passion, energy, and a bias towards action.
  • Ability to think proactively and challenge common practices.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and deliver on time.
  • Excellent communication skills (writing and verbal).
  • Strong collaboration and project coordination skills.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors or external partners.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business leaders, managers and partners, contributing to discussions and helping translate objectives into clear communication plans.
  • Basic technical knowledge of internal communication channels and formats, including in‑person and hybrid townhalls, social media image formats, web terminology, intranet/internet content maintenance, and multimedia tools and technologies.
Education and Professional Qualifications (preferred)
  • University Degree and/or relevant professional qualification (Marketing, Business Administration or related communications field)
