Job summary

Heriot-Watt University is seeking an Internal Communications Manager (Change & HR) in Scotland. This 1 FTE fixed-term role (9 months maternity cover) offers Grade 7, with a salary of £37,694 - £47,389 per annum. You will lead plans to support organisational change and HR initiatives, aligning with Strategy 2035, reporting to the Global Director of HR.

You will act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, delivering clear, timely communications, and embedding new ways of working across staff.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in an internal communications role with a focus on organisational change and HR communications.
• Ability to advise and influence senior leaders with confidence and credibility.
• Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver internal communications plans to support change programmes and HR priorities.
• Support the launch and embedding of Strategy 2035 with staff communications.
• Provide specialist communications support for employee relations and workforce change activity.
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders and HR colleagues during periods of change.
• Deliver communications across internal channels in partnership with central internal communications.
• Monitor and evaluate staff engagement to adapt messaging and approaches.
