Can you turn complex business updates into communications that people genuinely want to read, watch and act on?We are looking for an experienced Internal Communications Executive to provide creative and practical support to our Internal Communications team. You will help us keep more than 3,000 colleagues across SYNLAB UK&I informed, connected and clear about our strategy, priorities and the part they play in our success. Working within agreed plans and priorities, you will turn ideas into action by creating audience-focused content, coordinating activity and supporting campaigns across our channels. You will be trusted to manage your own workload, take initiative and keep projects moving, while working closely with the Internal Communications Manager and wider Communications team. Based at our Blackfriars Hub three days a week, with travel to other SYNLAB businesses across the UK, you will join a collaborative team of nine. If you have relevant experience and want to broaden your skills through varied, hands‑on work, this role will give you the opportunity to contribute ideas, support high‑profile projects and make a visible difference to how colleagues experience communications.
Working under the direction of the Internal Communications Manager, you will provide hands‑on support with planning, coordinating and delivering communications across the organisation. A key part of your role will be helping the team control the flow of communications. You will maintain the internal communications calendar, coordinate incoming requests, track actions and approvals, and help sequence activity so colleagues receive clear, timely communications without unnecessary clashes or overload. This is a busy, fast‑moving role. You will often be juggling several projects and deadlines at once, so you will need to be agile, highly organised and comfortable working at pace. You will proactively follow up actions, anticipate potential issues and keep activity moving, while escalating conflicting priorities, risks and sensitive decisions to the Internal Communications Manager when appropriate. You will also support campaigns and initiatives covering areas such as diversity, equity and inclusion, sustainability, appraisal activity and employee recognition. Many colleagues work in laboratories and other non‑desk‑based environments. You will help develop practical ways to reach them, gather feedback and ensure their experiences are reflected in our communications.

Your work will help the Internal Communications team connect colleagues across our headquarters and four hospital businesses. As part of our Marketing & Communications team, you will work alongside specialists in internal, corporate, service‑user and social communications. You will support colleagues on a broad mix of activity and gain exposure to senior stakeholders and functions including Operations, IT, Quality, Health and Safety, Finance, People, Learning and Development, Recruitment and scientific development. You will join us at an important stage in the development of our communications channels, including the launch of a UK&I‑wide intranet. You will help deliver these improvements by coordinating activity, creating content, gathering feedback and contributing ideas. You will have the support and direction of experienced colleagues while being trusted to take responsibility for your work and follow tasks through to completion.
