Job summary

BDO UK is seeking an Internal Audit Senior Manager to lead engagements across a varied portfolio, building trusted client relationships and delivering high-quality assurance and risk advisory services.

In this role you will partner with Directors and Partners, develop teams, drive quality and growth, and contribute to the continued success of the Risk Advisory Services practice across the UK.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering internal audit or equivalent risk and assurance engagements at Senior Manager or equivalent level.
• Strong technical understanding of risk management, internal controls and corporate governance.
• Experience with complex clients, ideally including listed, regulated, public sector or not-for-profit organisations.

Responsibilities

Overview

As an Internal Audit Senior Manager in our Risk Advisory Services (RAS) team, you will play a key leadership role in delivering Internal Auditand risk advisoryengagementsacross a diverse portfolio of client.You will lead senior client relationships, oversee thedelivery of high-quality engagements, and provide technical and commercial leadership to Managers and engagement teams.

Working closely with Directors and Partners, you willsupport the continued growth of the Internal Audit propositioncontributingto business development activity, and support strategic initiatives across the practice. Alongside your client responsibilities, you will play an important role in developing people, embedding quality and risk management standards, and helping to build a high‑performing and sustainableInternal Auditteam.

You’llbe someone with

• Significant experience delivering internal audit or equivalent risk and assurance engagements at Senior Manager or equivalent level, leading multiple engagements and senior client relationships for medium to large organisations.
• Strong technical understanding of risk management, internal controls and corporate governance, applied pragmatically in a commercial environment.
• Experience working with complex clients, ideally including listed,regulated, public sectoror not-for-profit organisations.
• A relevant accounting or internal audit qualification (e.g. ICAEW, CIMA, CPFA, CIIA, ACCA or equivalent).
• A strong commercial mindset, with experience overseeing engagement economics and contributing to business development activity.
• The ability to lead, coach and develop Managers and teams, supporting progression, qualityand consistent delivery.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage credibly with senior client stakeholders and internal leadership.
