Job summary

Iconic Resourcing is seeking an experienced Internal Audit professional to join its growing UK advisory team. The role offers genuine variety, early responsibility, and the chance to influence governance, controls and risk frameworks across public sector bodies, charities, housing associations, and education providers.

You’ll lead engagements from planning through completion, supervise junior staff, and engage with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Around 3+ years’ experience in internal audit or a similar risk and assurance role.
• Experience leading audits and working directly with clients.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
• Professional qualification (or working towards one such as CIIA) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver internal audit assignments from planning through to completion across a diverse client base.
• Assess risk, review controls, and provide clear, practical recommendations that strengthen governance and improve performance.

What you’ll do

Alongside delivery, you’ll supervise and review the work of junior team members, providing coaching, feedback, and on-the-job support to help them develop. You’ll also attend client meetings and audit committee sessions, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and contribute to the continued growth of the internal audit offering through involvement in business development activity.

What you’ll need

• Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
