Yeo Valley Production Ltd invites applications for a Lead Operator on days, a 3-month secondment at our Crewkerne site. You will lead and support co-owners to ensure safe, high-quality and efficient day-to-day operations.

Focus is on guiding, motivating and developing the team with strong safety and quality outcomes. The role requires hands-on leadership, coordinating resources across assets, and driving improvements in performance and material yield on the lines.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to Health & Safety and role model safe practices.

• Maintain GMP and hygiene standards, including PPE and dress code.
• Lead clean and organized work areas; ensure visual management on the line.
• Analyse asset performance to identify opportunities and drive improvements.
• Coordinate changeovers to maximise asset utilisation.
• Share performance data and explain how roles contribute to shift and site success.
• Support fault finding and root-cause analysis with the wider team.

Do you have a passion for leading People? We have an excting 3 month Secondment opportunity for a Lead Operator on days shift at our Crewkerne site. This role is all about leading and supporting co-owners to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. You'll be responsible for guiding, motivating, and developing your team to achieve high standards in safety, quality, and efficiency.

As an important part of the Leadership structure you will ensure that the team are able to work productively and effectively. Through the coordination of resources across multiple assets and completing performance improvement meetings on the lines, you will ensure optimalutilizationof our assets and the optimal use of raw materials.

This Role is a 4 0n 4 0ff shift pattern - Working hours 0600-1800.

Key responsibilities:

• Demonstrating a commitment to Health & Safety by working in a safe manner, role modelling our safetybehaviours, challenging unsafe practices, rectifying unsafe conditions and escalating to other team members when support is needed.
• Leading the active involvement of the teams in all Health & Safety aspects of their work to support the ongoing improvement to safety practices.
• Escalating any food safety breach or quality issue and ensure that any product below our standards is identified and held and the issues areescalated appropriately, resolved and released.
• Active involvement, commitment and governance of the quality management system, making sure all relevant controls and procedures are completed effectively to validate food safety controls and the products we make exceed customer and consumer expectations.
• Understanding, leading and maintaining good manufacturing practices and company standards of hygiene, PPE, and dress code.
• Role models a 'Clean as You Go' approach, leading workplaceorganisationand visual management standards with the team.
• Analyses and interprets asset performance to establish areas of opportunity and initiates the necessary support to drive improvements to performance and raw material yields.
• Active involvements in changeoveroptimisationwith the team, identifying areas of opportunity and resource coordination that improve assetutilisation.
• Communicates and shares performance data and ensures team awareness and connection of how their role contributes to the success of the shift, site and business.
• Undertake basic fault finding and rectification on equipment and actively support the identification of root cause when escalating to the wider support team when required.
• Ensuring all equipment is properly cared for through the layered validation of the cleaning tasks and the compliance to the schedule.
• Collate, suggest, initiate and implement improvement activities within own team and outside of team across all shifts
• Work across the team and effective handovers to understand common challenges and opportunities seeking to identify where investigations may help most.
