Job summary

Plexus Design Centre in Bathgate, Scotland is seeking a detail-oriented Design Assurance Engineering Intern for a summer placement. You will gain exposure to the full product engineering lifecycle, supporting verification and validation across software, hardware, and mechanical subsystems.

This 12-week program offers bespoke development plans, exposure to testing methodologies, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in any engineering discipline (Systems, Mechanical, Electronic, Biomedical, or Software).
• Keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a methodical approach to evaluating how products work.
• An interest in the complete product engineering lifecycle, testing methodologies, and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Support verification and validation (V&V) testing activities across software, hardware, and mechanical subsystems.
• Assist in developing test plans, writing test scripts/cases, and analyzing test results on physical product prototypes.
• Work with multi-disciplinary design teams to review engineering documentation, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Investigate design defects, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend solutions alongside senior engineers.
