About The Role

Hippo is recruiting intermediate consultants in UX design. UX designers ensure that people using a service can do what they need to do, when they need to do it, in an easy way. Working with user researchers, they identify user needs and use that information to inform design decisions. They champion user-centred design, work with Agile teams to test and iterate designs, and advise clients on interaction design.

As an intermediate UX design consultant, you should have strong UX skills and some experience advising others on user-centred services. We offer opportunities for professional growth and client engagement.

Please note, we are seeking candidates interested in growth at this level. The salary band reflects the lower end of our full range for this role, with room for progression.

What You’ll Do

1. Participate in Agile, multidisciplinary teams following a people-centred design process
2. Design end-to-end user journeys for optimal experience
3. Utilize insights from research and metrics to identify pain points and improve designs
4. Create user journey maps, sitemaps, navigation schemas, and wireframes
5. Support usability testing with user researchers
6. Conduct workshops with team and stakeholders
7. Share best practices within the Hippo design community

About The Candidate

• Interest in emerging design, UX, and technology trends
• Ability to recognize and incorporate use-cases, including edge cases, into designs
• Strong understanding of UX design for mobile and web, with demonstrable skills
• Experience with rapid prototyping tools like Sketch and Invision
• Excellent consultancy skills, attentive to client needs
• Ability to transfer skills to clients for ongoing improvement
