Job description

Intermediate Solicitor (Based in New Zealand)

Join a highly regarded specialist employment team at Quigg Partners in Wellington, New Zealand. You will have the chance to work on top-tier matters embodying the ethos of 'big firm work without the big firm bureaucracy.' Quigg Partners is renowned for their supportive environment, demonstrated through initiatives such as birthday celebrations, weekly massages, and a netball team, all contributing to a close-knit community.

You will play a crucial role in providing specialised legal advice and managing various aspects of employment law. Your responsibilities will span across non-contentious areas such as assisting employers and employees with employment law processes and drafting legal documents. However, you will also have the scope to assist senior members on contentious matters, gaining exposure to both the legal and strategic aspects of each stage of contentious matters.

If you are considering a move to Wellington but are not quite ready to relocate, Quigg Partners will consider someone working remotely from overseas or elsewhere in New Zealand initially.

The ideal lawyer will bring a wealth of experience in employment law along with a strong commitment to client service. You will be well-versed in handling both non-contentious and contentious areas of employment law. Your ability to provide practical solutions without unnecessary complexity sets you apart. Moreover, your strong interpersonal skills make you approachable, reliable, and responsive—qualities that are highly valued in this role.

Minimum Requirements:
  • 2-6 years of post-admission experience in employment law
  • Ability to provide practical solutions without unnecessary complexity
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an approachable, reliable, and responsive nature
  • Experience in handling both non-contentious and contentious areas of law
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a supportive yet challenging environment

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 per annum + bonus and benefits
