Description

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate or Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Km mechanical Limited' in Christchurch. This full-time role will play a crucial part in the design, development and delivery of our mechanical engineering projects.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing new designs for pressure equipment, stationary containers, associated piping, and mechanicalstructures
• Technical condition assessments for existing plant and equipment, which may include pressure vessels,stationary containers, or mechanical structures
• Taking initial client calls, manage projects through scoping, costing, and design
• Preparing fee proposals and cost estimates
• Writing technical reports, attending client meetings, providing technical advice
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices

What we're looking for

• A person who is self motivated and driven
• A practical person with a minimum of 8+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in the industrial engineering design environment
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, CPEng is desirable but not a pre-requisite
• Strong technical skills, including computer-based analysis (e.g. FEA or similar software-based assessment) and first principal engineering calculations
• Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Experience in the Pressure Equipment and Mechanical Structural fields would be advantageous but not a must.
• Familiarity with project management principles and tools
