Job description

We are seeking a passionate Intermediate Java Engineer to join our agile squads within CDL's Digital family. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver, maintain, and support various CDL products within an agile squad.
  2. Provide support and feature enhancements according to the product roadmap.
  3. Contribute as a competent individual with leadership potential in a hybrid, Agile environment.
  4. Develop reliable, cost-efficient, performant, secure, and sustainable software applications.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Proven experience in Java development with strong commercial background.
  • Experience with cloud-based delivery pipelines and AWS.
  • Proficiency in unit testing, integration testing, and TDD.
  • Knowledge of containerisation technologies like Docker.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience with automated testing, infrastructure as code, React, TypeScript, GitLab, Kibana, Terraform.
Salary and Benefits

The role offers a salary up to £39,500 per annum, with opportunities for career progression within CDL’s structured framework (https://progression.cdl.co.uk/).
