Key Responsibilities

As part of our agile squad, you will be responsible for the delivery, maintenance, and support of various CDL products. Your key tasks will include providing support and feature enhancements in line with our product delivery roadmap.

Being a competent individual contributor, with leadership potential in a hybrid, Agile working environment; you will play a pivotal role in the development of innovative applications. You will have experience in developing software that is reliable, cost-optimized, performant, supportable, secure, and sustainable.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

• Proven hands-on experience in Java development with significant commercial software engineering expertise
• Experience with cloud-based delivery pipelines
• Extensive experience with AWS
• Proficiency in unit testing and integration testing including TDD
• Experience of containerization technologies like Docker
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to inspire and challenge the organization through your problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and challenge others to meet product delivery deadlines

Highly Desirable

• Experience with automated testing
• Experience with infrastructure as code
• Experience with React and TypeScript
• Working knowledge of GitLab, Kibana, Terraform

Salary:

The salary for the role of Intermediate Java Engineer (with AWS) pays up to £39,500p.a, providing a fantastic opportunity for career progression through CDL’s clearly defined career framework.
