Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer – London

SSA are currently recruiting for a leading M&E contractor who are looking for an intermediate level Electrical Design Engineer to join their team to complete projects on high-end luxury apartments. Their main role will require them to direct and coordinate a team consisting of Engineers and Designers. The candidate will also be responsible for electrical designs, providing technical advice, and guiding all parties involved in the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate the installation and commissioning of electrical requirements for the projects.
  2. Design electrical systems, problem solve, and perform technical analysis.
  3. Provide project management advice to contractors, allocate design contracts, and review contracts and activities.
  4. Collaborate with the Electrical Division to ensure successful project completion.
  5. Coordinate on-site commissioning and acceptance testing of equipment.
  6. Prepare technical documents to facilitate the commissioning process.
  7. Develop calculations, analysis, schematics, drawings, diagrams, models, and specifications related to the project's designs.
  8. Assess resource requirements, risks, and technical quality to ensure effective problem-solving solutions.
  9. Attend project sites and participate in works testing.
The Ideal Candidate:
  1. Has 2+ years of electrical design experience with an M&E contractor.
  2. Is proficient in COM, risk assessment, and both external and internal auditing.
  3. Has proven experience in a range of electrical topics including design, analysis, specification, installation, and commissioning.
  4. Can lead and develop others and manage cross-team collaborations.
  5. Possesses sufficient background knowledge to propose and debate alternative electrical and operational solutions.
