Shopfitting / Retail Fit-Out Architect (RIBA Stages 45 Specialist)

We are seeking a talented and detail-driven Architect to join our team, with a focus on RIBA Stages 45 (Technical Design through Manufacturing & Construction).
This is a unique opportunity for an architect who thrives on precision detailing, technical problem solving, and on-site coordination within the fit-out and shopfitting industry.
Youll take conceptual and spatially coordinated designs and transform them into buildable, regulation compliant, high-quality solutions that ensure flawless delivery on site.
Responsibilities
- Lead RIBA Stage 4 (Technical Design): producing highly detailed, buildable technical drawings, specifications, and setting-out packages.
- Support RIBA Stage 5 (Manufacturing & Construction): liaising with contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance during site build.
- Ensure all detailing complies with UK Building Regulations, CDM (Construction Design and Management Regulations), and Health & Safety legislation.
- Collaborate with design teams to maintain the integrity of the architectural intent while resolving practical buildability challenges.
- Provide site-based input, resolving technical issues swiftly and effectively.

Qualifications & Experience
- ARB registered Architect (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven experience in retail fit-out, shopfitting, or high-end commercial interiors.
- Strong technical expertise in construction detailing, setting out, and coordination.
- Excellent working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
- Proficiency in CAD/BIM and 3D design software including:
- SolidWorks (detailed 3D modelling and joinery/shopfitting applications)
- Autodesk Inventor (manufacturing/technical detailing)
- AutoCAD, Revit, or Rhino (architectural and spatial coordination)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with contractors, joinery workshops, and site teams.
