Job description

A Lloyd’s underwriter is looking for a Senior Technical Accountant /Analyst with strong data and analytical skills to join its finance team on a 12-month interim basis. This role is key to supporting the accurate delivery of financial reporting and analysis across a range of underwriting entities, including syndicates and reinsurance structures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for actuals, forecasts, and Solvency II submissions, with regular interaction across Finance, Actuarial, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provision of reporting for all underwriting entities
  • Preparation and review of UK GAAP and Solvency II underwriting results, forecasts and plans
  • Delivery of financial analysis to stakeholders across the business
  • Oversight of accounting across various Lloyd’s and group entities
  • Maintenance and development of the Annual Accounting Model
  • Supporting process improvements to streamline reporting and data flows

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrable experience in the London Market, ideally Lloyd’s
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of the underwriting P&L
  • Data analysis skills with advanced Excel; knowledge of Power BI, PowerQuery or SQL is beneficial
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
