Interim Senior VAT Manager  3 to 6 Months  Day Rate up to £650  2 days in office

Your new company

I am working with a high-profile client that operates in over 50 territories globally. They handle a variety of indirect tax queries and projects. Known for their excellent reputation, they would enhance any CV. They are seeking a long-term temporary role, potentially lasting up to 6 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. The role involves no line management responsibilities, primarily mentoring and compliance review, with advisory duties at the core.

Your new role
  • Create, protect, and optimise value aligned with OUP's global charitable objectives.
  • Manage VAT and indirect tax risks.
  • Ensure compliance with global tax laws.
  • Assist in developing and implementing VAT systems and process strategies.
  • Partner with global businesses to ensure VAT compliance.
  • Provide timely and accurate advice on internal VAT queries.
  • Advise the Group Tax Director on VAT due diligence and business acquisitions.
  • Monitor business changes, new products/services, and market routes by engaging with senior leaders.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes, consulting advisers as needed.
  • Sign off UK VAT returns.
  • Oversee branch VAT returns by collaborating with local finance teams.
  • Manage responses to global tax authority queries and audits.
  • Oversee supply chains, including importation and VAT registration matters.
  • Monitor digital product market routes and registration/invoicing requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring global tax risks and propose mitigation strategies.
What you'll need to succeed

Qualified accountant or tax professional with proven experience in International VAT.

What you'll get in return

Up to £650 per day, flexible working options, with 2 days in the office (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
